Hi I’m Julen! A director, story artist and 2D character animator working in Brisbane. I’m 5+ years experienced in the industry, passionate about storytelling and devoted to learning new skills and programs to create high quality boards and animation efficiently.

I am currently storyboarding on Bluey: The Movie at Cosmic Dino and I have also done work for Princess Bento (remote), 12 Field (remote), Pixel Zoo Animation Studio in North Lakes, Cheeky Little in Sydney (remote) and The Post Lounge in Woolloongabba (remote).

I have extensive knowledge in Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Adobe Suite Programs (Photoshop, AE, Premiere), Clip Studio and Blender.

Based in Brisbane, Australia. Graduate from Griffith University in a Bachelor of Animation with Honours. Spent a year in Edinburgh, Scotland for the 2018/19 year at the Edinburgh College of Art in their Bachelor of Animation program as a part of being selected for the Griffith GoGlobal international exchange program.

• Winner Most Outstanding Director (Griffith University) for Welcome to Winton (2019)

• Winner The Royal Society of the Arts in London’s RSA Design Award in the Moving Pictures category for my animation The Future is in Your Hands Now (2019)

• Winner Screen It Secondary Animation prize from the Australian Centre for Moving Images (ACMI) for my animation A Notable Tree (2015).
